What is a Blog and blogging?
A blog or blogging, short for website log is an online journal or informational website displaying information. It is basically a website where new content is frequently published, typically written in an informal or conversational style, often with the goal of attracting readers and achieving some sort of goal, whether community building or growing a business.
There are broadly 3 purposes of blog and blogging:
1. Provide information to people on your blog
Write about services, products or experiences so that people know more about it and make informed decisions. We live in a post-industrial, service-sector-heavy civilization which means that people are coming to you because you have knowledge, skills, and capacities that they might not possess.
The beauty of a well-managed blog is that it can help your readers find you. It’s your very own digital storefront, so as long as you give people the information they’re looking for they are likely to be quite interested and engaged.
2. Establishes yourself as a trusted authority
Today, whenever we have a problem we try finding solutions on Google and select the first few listed options for our resolution.
Similarly, the more blog entries you have means more content, and more chances to rank high in a particular keyword search.
However, if you have a relatively active blog that covers different aspects of addressing your query, it will make you seem more credible and authoritative than someone who does not have a blog or a fairly inactive blog with a few generic posts.
3. Exposure leading to sales through your blog and blogging
Once you are an established and trusted authority, your Blaudience is more likely to buy from you, which could also be due to the constant exposure to your brand.
According to a psychological phenomenon, Familiarity principle makes people develop a preference for familiar things. So the better you are ranked in the Search Engine Result Pages (SERP’s), the better is your viewership leading to a familiar brand.
